Poti Urban Development Masterplan

Studio 9 is leading the comprehensive urban development strategy for Poti, one of Georgia’s key port cities. This large-scale project covers zoning, mobility, public infrastructure, green networks, and coastline regeneration, aiming to transform Poti into a more connected, resilient, and livable city.

The process involved extensive field studies, aerial mapping via drone surveys, and detailed building inventories. Over 20 focus group sessions were held with local stakeholders, including the port authority, industrial zone representatives, educational institutions, and NGOs, to align the masterplan with community needs and economic potential.

The vision phase, based on the completed research, is currently in progress and will serve as the foundation for a practical action plan. By integrating environmental considerations and heritage preservation into every step, the plan supports sustainable growth while reinforcing Poti’s strategic importance as a gateway city on the Black Sea.
